Corporate taxation

From 35% to an effective 5%: see how Malta’s tax refunds work.

Maltese companies are taxed at 35%. Upon the distribution of a dividend, shareholders may claim a refund of 6/7ths — in certain circumstances 5/7ths or 2/3rds — of the tax paid by the company.
